Discord PFP troubleshooting 2022: How to fix blurry Discord PFP

Are you having trouble with your Discord PFP's resolution? A recent Discord glitch causes users' profile pictures to appear blurry and pixelated. So if your pfp for Discord appears blurry, we have the fix here for you.

The issue becomes evident when you upload your profile picture on Discord from an iOS device, including iPhones and iPads.

Blurry Discord profile picture fix – Upload from browser

To overcome this blurry pfp issue, all you have to do is upload your profile picture from a browser such as Chrome or Safari.

Right now, the only way to fix this is to upload your PFP from the PC browser. Devs have noted this issue, and they are aware of it.

We are in the process of rolling out a fix so that you will receive it shortly. The only way to fix & get Discord PFP without any blur or pixelation is to use a browser like Chrome or Safari.

Essentially, the issue is related to incorrect downscaling and compression of profile pictures on Discord on the iOS apps. So, if you upload a pfp from iOS that is larger than the official recommendation (128 x 128 pixels), you will encounter a glitch.

You won't overcome the issue by compressing the profile photo yourself or by resaving the image. Moreover, this is unrelated to the Discord server you use.

So the solution for Discord users is to upload 128 x 128-pixel images for their profile avatar. If you are hellbent on using a larger image, just upload it from a PC or Mac browser.

How to log in to Discord from your browser

You can use a web browser like Safari or Chrome on your PC. However, if you're using a smartphone, you should use https://discordapp.com.

If the above URL does not work, you need to follow discord.com/login to log in to your Discord account.

Also, a prompt would show you how to download Discord from the Play Store or App Store on the Discord website.
